As someone who dabbles in marketing (I'm just a contractor so I work for a variety of clients here and there rather than a decated 9-5, so I'm sure you know a lot more about this than myself) I encourage you not to abandon the platform, it's still very new and they are adding more all the time. Also, even if you never post, I don't know if you need to pause subs. If you make it plain that there are no promises and that subs are simply a way to support you, not a fee for goods sold, then it's still very legitimate.

Personally, I am treating Substack as a little experiment to bring joy back to my writing rather than chasing subs. Of course, I would love hearts and feedback, and haven't gotten any yet 😥, but I just want a space where I can write and be me and not worry about the business side of things. This is my happy space. I don't even paywall things. Maybe I will one day, but my goal is sharing my joy. And OMG how simple is it? I spend way too much time worrying about my clients perfect website and mailing lists. The last thing I want to do is worry about it for my personal page.

You have a business, so I get it. You can't spread yourself between too many platforms. Even on a personal page that is true. So if you have to quite Substack for your own selfcare, that's another thing entirely.

Good luck with your website! I mostly follow you on YouTube. Love your content.

Your new website looks great! I love the focus of it, and it is aesthetically pleasing, as well (💟 calligraphy!). I look forward to reading the articles you've written soon, in addition to your Patreon posts. Hope you are having a warm and cozy Winter. ❄️🕯️❄️
